OUR LABORATORIES

3D PRINTING

RIC3D is an innovative startup that, since its birth, has skillfully employed the tools offered by 3D-printing. Our first project was the creation of an electronically searchable database, displaying bi-dimensional diagnostic images (e.g. CT scans, Echocardiogrammes, MRI) as sources to generate 3D images that can be investigated through VR. Bi-dimensional images can be dissected and assembled under the supervision of an expert, and they can be then employed both virtually and through 3D-printing techniques. 3D prints of organs can be used by either healthcare professionals or Medicine students to study pathologies.

CIRCULARPONIC

RIC3D collaborates with Techinnova, MTM, Nutritech and Biotica for the joint realisation of the Circularponic project, that will employ the principle of aquaponics. Some functions, such as the monitoring of the reproduction, of feeding and of the quality of water, besides other potential anomalies, are performed through IoT and Cyber Security tools. These factors make this approach particularly innovative and extremely sustainable, due to the almost null waste production. This is a virtuous cycle that allows to simultaneously breed fishes and to cultivate plants with zero environmental impact.

MATERIALS LAB

The Materials Laboratory designs, studies and creates prototypes with highly innovative materials, with a special focus on circular economy and organic waste recycling (of the waste generated along industrial supply chains). These materials, studied alongside industrial and research partners, of both public and private nature, find application in the Medical, Green Building, Fashion and Design sectors.
